Lollipop has been without a meeting space for some time, and we have missed the way parents and older members used to be able to drop in to see us during office hours! Being able to drop in and have a chat with us or Cheryl, our Parent Liaison Officer was a really useful and valuable way to provide support to Lollipop families.

We are working on ways that we can offer this support again and are delighted to say that we are starting ‘drop-in’ sessions at York & District Deaf Society (YDDS) from next week! We will be at YDDS every month, and will run our session alongside Deaf Cafe run by Annalee Green. We will have a separate space but you will be welcome to pop in to deaf cafe if you’d like to.

Whether you are an older member of Lollipop, family of a young member, a carer or a friend, you are welcome to come to our drop-in. You’ll have the chance to chat to others who might have similar experiences to you, ask our staff any questions you might have, or simply relax with a hot drink and enjoy a chat with others. Our Parent Liaison Officer will always be at our drop-ins and is an English speaker and BSL user.
