Lollipop is a York based charity that offers social and emotional support to deaf and hearing impaired children living in York and North Yorkshire.
We provide a wide range of activities and we are developing a mentoring scheme for our 14-19 members to help prepare them for adult life and further education.
Lollipop is looking for reliable activity volunteers who can work in a team, show initiative and communicate well with children, young people and families to join its team volunteering at drop in activities and for its ad hoc activities. Most activities at Lollipop take place at weekends. All Lollipop volunteers are DBS checked and are given deaf awareness training.
This is an exciting opportunity for a caring, supportive and well-motivated person to join the Lollipop team. If you would like to support young people to help them reach their full potential this could be the perfect volunteer role for you.
If you are interested in applying for one of these opportunities, we have available please write a letter of application outlining your reasons for wanting to volunteer for Lollipop and your experience and interests. Include a reference with your letter.
Please send a letter explaining your reasons for applying and what skills and strengths you will bring to the charity with one personal referee to firstname.lastname@example.org or post your application letter to: Heidi Davies, Lollipop Service Manager, Minster Building, 84 Lowther Street, York, YO317LX.
You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. Deaf Awareness Training will be given to successful candidates.
