Amanda Smith

Amanda was born profoundly deaf and has worked her way up to Associate Professor for British Sign Language and Deaf Studies at York St John’s University. Amanda has gained many qualifications in different subjects, taught both adults and children throughout her career and worked with SEN pupils. Being deaf has given Amanda a true experience of what children and young people need to succeed with a disability.
