Children’s Mental Health Week is a mental health awareness week that launched by children’s mental health charity, Place2Be. The week exists to empower, equip and give a voice to all children and young people in the UK.
Deaf children are more likely than hearing children to experience depression, anxiety and other challenges affecting their mental health (National Deaf Children’s Society). Click on the link below to see how you can support your deaf child’s mental and emotional health…….

Building a positive deaf identity and developing positive self-esteem are key players which are two of Lollipop’s main objectives. We have received lots of feedback from parents that going to Lollipop events has increased their deaf child’s confidence and self-esteem. Regularly meeting other deaf children and forming a deaf peer group is massively important in developing positive self-identity.
If you would like to register your deaf child or young person, please contact Anna at info@lollipopyork.org.uk. Membership is free! We also support children of deaf adults (CODA). Or, if you know of a deaf child or young person who would benefit from coming to Lollipop events, please do share our info.
