The famous York Dragon Boat Race is on Sunday 9th July and we have now officially entered the race with 35 other teams!
We need a team of 20 Lollipop supporters to paddle us to victory on the river, so if you’re interested keeping reading for all the details and how to book your spot on our team. There’s been a lot of interest so don’t delay!

General information
Teams are made up of 20 people who take part in various races throughout the day, the first race is at 10am and the last at 4pm, with a grand prize-giving at the end of the day. There are no training or practice events before the day, everyone just turns up and gives it a go!
Our team name is Deafinitely Lollipop and we are open to ideas about whether our boat should have a theme. Lots of teams dress up in bright and funny matching outfits, or wear silly hats or wigs. Let us know your ideas!

Ability to swim – Members of the team must be reasonably fit, able to swim at least 50 metres wearing a buoyancy aid.
Minimum age – The minimum age for this event is 16 years old.
Medical Restrictions – Each participant must be reasonably fit and must not be vastly overweight in relation to their height. If you are unsure whether you can take part, please seek advice from your doctor.
Sponsorship – Each team member needs to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
